Is Hepatitis Spread?
hepatitis A
About 20,000 people in the US have hepatitis A every year. Hepatitis A virus is found in the stool of infected people. It is spread through contaminated food or water or by certain types of sexual contact. Outbreaks of hepatitis A also experienced by some students of IPB early December 2015 and claimed the first lives. This can occur when handling late and strains of the virus are also deadly strain.
Children who get hepatitis A often have no symptoms, so the infection is unknown. Fortunately, children are now routinely vaccinated against hepatitis A.
Most people who get hepatitis A recover completely within two weeks to six months and this virus does not leave the liver damage. In rare cases, hepatitis A can cause liver failure and even death in older adults or people with underlying heart disease.
hepatitis B
Each year, about 40,000 people in the US are infected with hepatitis B. Hepatitis B Acute lasts from several weeks to several months. Many people who are infected can eliminate the virus while still in the acute phase. However, some people also found the virus remains in the body thus experiencing chronic hepatitis B infection, which is a serious condition, lifetime, and was not able to be healed. Chronic hepatitis B will develop into more serious health problems, such as liver damage, cirrhosis, liver failure, and liver cancer, and some people die from hepatitis B.
